It's Thursday! Advocates launched a TV ad this week alerting Oregonians to the harmful impacts of Rep. Dennis Richardson's budget, and his idea to hold on to more than $440 million while middle-class families suffer. Watch the ad here.

The proposed $5.7 billion budget for K-12 schools moved "forward" today after a heart-wrenching hearing in front of the committee. Teachers, parents, and school advocates testified about the hardships their schools are already facing, and what such budget cuts will mean.

Secretary of State Kate Brown released a grim financial report and Mt. Hood Community College faculty have voted to authorize a strike -- they've been working without a contract since August 2010.
